Brad’s guitar playing and singing are so much fun to listen to (and sing and dance to!). The familiar tunes bring lots of smiles to our tenants at Birchwood Arbors and enthusiastic participation. Thanks from all of us, Brad!

Mission Statement

The mission of Let’s Sing! is to enrich the spiritual and emotional quality of life using music and laughter.  The majority of the folks I play to are not retired CEO’s, movie stars or other notables. They are simply our mothers and fathers, aunts and uncles. They quietly raised their families, worked their jobs and did the unglorious things everyday that make this old world go ‘round.

Unfortunately, now many of the people in the homes are lonely, many feel forgotten. Through my shows, I try to bring a message that they are never alone, never forgotten, are loved and are valued.

History

I started Let's Sing! in 2003. Soon after, Let’s Sing! became a sub-ministry of  Discipleship Training Ministries (for more information on DTM, please click the "About DTM" button above). In November of 2004, in response to my shows and my work at Birchwood Health Care in Forest Lake, I was ordained as a Minister to the Elderly by DTM. I was unofficial "Chaplain" at Birchwood and, along with music, provided spiritual support to the residents and staff. I'm still active at Birchwood, but to a much lesser degree.

Along with my music shows, in 2005 I decided to try to reach bedridden residents through TV. I put together a 30 minute variety TV show at the local cable TV station specifically aimed at nursing home residents. We ended up taping 25 shows which are still shown on stations around the Twin Cities.

What do you play?

I play a mixture of mainly old time classics. Some of the songs I sing are just me and my guitar while others include backing tracks I record in my studio and play back through my system. I always put together a different playlist for each show, but no matter what songs I do or what jokes I tell, my shows always provide fun, stimulating activity, seasoned with spiritual warmth.

Where do you play?

I play mainly wherever seniors gather - nursing homes, senior centers, senior apartments and so on. I'm especially drawn to nursing homes as many of those residents are unable to go out for other entertainment and fellowship.

I’ve also done many community events, family reunions and anniversary parties, among others. I adjust my playlist accordingly.

Do you accept donations?

Yes, and all donations are fully tax-deductible and should be made out to:

All contributions to Let's Sing! are used carefully and exclusively by Let's Sing!.

What if I wanted to drop by a nursing home and see a show?

Please do, you're more than welcome -  the more, the merrier! There's cookies, coffee and people who would love to meet you.  Please contact me for a show schedule.

Are there any other ways to assist Let's Sing!?

One way, of course, is with a financial contribution. Or maybe you know someone who would be interested in supporting this ministry.

I welcome any suggestions or ideas for improving the show, promoting the ministry, etc. I'll take any help I can get!

Also, if you know of a home you would like me to visit, please let me know.

Finally, please pray for Let’s Sing! and me.
